This painting was inspired by my visit to a Korean women’s spa in Koreatown, Los Angeles. I was fascinated by the atmosphere, women of different ages and body types, natural and relaxed, with no need to hide or pretend. There was something simple, ancient, and deeply human about it. I carried with me this feeling of femininity, freedom, and quiet intimacy, and later it became this painting.
